Why Water is Important
A lot of people are not really water-drinker, me included. Haha.
Some prefer drinks like juices and carbonated drinks over plain boring water. But what we need to know when doing the HCG Diet is that water is essential and is something you definitely shouldn’t skip. Actually, per protocol, you need to have an intake of TWO LITERS of water daily. Bummer, right?
But the good news is, your coffee and tea are counted in your water intake. So you still get to have some flavor.
Fluid intake is important to prevent you from becoming dehydrated. If your fluid intake is insufficient, your urine becomes scanty. This will cause your kidneys to strain. Water will also be withdrawn from your intestinal tract which will lead to constipation. Dehydration can also slow down your metabolism.
Thirst mechanism usually gets mistaken for hunger. So when you feel slight hunger, you can try to remedy this by first drinking water. Hunger signals may cease afterwards.
Insufficient water may also cause daytime fatigue. Water helps in the digestion and absorption of nutrients from food so that even when you’re on a low calorie diet, your tissues and organs will still get proper nourishment.
